What is a troubled teen?

Troubled teens (sometimes called at risk youth, defiant teens, or struggling adolescents) typically make poor life choices in areas such as work, school, or attitude to authority (defiant to authority).

A troubled teen's negative behavior can cause great problems within the family unit. Not only with the parents, but with the siblings following a similar behavior pattern.

What can you do?

There are many options in helping troubled teens get off the path of destruction.  Many of which will help create lasting relationships within their family and peer groups.

For severe cases of defiance, drug use, or behavior disorders we recommend gathering resources and meeting with your local therapist.  Gather as much information as possible using the web, friends, family, or church groups.  We've never heard that any one was too prepared.
